Plane Phenomenon: The Pawnshop Mysteries
by Carl R. Bartholomew
|
Description
Keith Davenport, a young teenager, is fascinated by the miracle of flight. But his first experience with a radio controlled model airplane is disastrous. He seeks a second chance with a strange bi-plane model he finds in a mysterious pawnshop. This airplane has its own ideas as to who will really be in control. His neighbor, Buddy Stewart, becomes the most influential person in his life. Buddy exposes Keith to a series of scientific experiments which eventually become so complex that a cataclysmic crash occurs during their attempt to actually fly. A baby alligator, rocket propulsion, molted glass, a makeshift parachute, a girlfriend's intuition and her dog's ESP are also part of this far-out story's mix. But it's the weird bi-plane model from the pawnshop with its unusual behavior that squeezes the guts of the story into the plane's cockpit for a phenomenal flight. Testimonials
